mistake - noun and verb

 

Note: The past tense of the verb mistake is mistook. The past participle is mistaken.

Example: His mistake led to his dismissal. noun

Example: In the future, I will try not to mistake her for her sister. verb

Example: She mistook him for the mayor. verb (past tense)

Example: We have mistaken her politeness for friendliness. verb (past participle)
