Addend vs. Addition

Any number that is added to another to form a sum. In the equation 6 + 4 = 10, the addends are 6 and 4.

In math, addition is the adding together or two or more numbers to come up with a sum.
A part of a building that is added on to the original. Our home is so much bigger new with the new addition.
Anything or anyone new. We have a new addition to our family.
