The chapter title read: “If I was you, I’d learn the subjunctive mood.”

Quite clearly, I am not you. To state a situation contrary to fact, you need the subjunctive mood. You form the subjunctive mood of the verb by using the plural “were” with singular subject “I.”

So the repaired title reads:

“If I were you, I’d learn the subjunctive mood.”
